Hadley Farms Swim Team – Swimmer Requirements
For the safety of all swimmers, children seven years of age and older must know how to swim before joining the team.
Swim team members who practice with the team and compete in the meets must be able to swim a 25‐meter length of the pool in less than 60 seconds without stopping, without touching the bottom of the pool, and without grabbing the side or lane ropes.
It is mandatory that children be able to swim the one length of the pool in order to be on the swim team. Swimmers who are not able to complete one length of the pool will be encouraged to practice with the pre-team (kick boarders, ages 4-6, see below) at practices until they meet the requirements. Kickboard and fundamental skills will be stressed at these practices. Swimmers will be re-evaluated by the coaches with the goal being to participate in future swim meets.
Pre-Team Members:
The pre-team (kick boarders) is for children ages 4 to 6 years old. Minimum age of eligibility for the pre-team is 4 years old by June 1st. Practices will be held four days per week and will stress kickboard and fundamental skills. Kick boarders will participate in swim meets.
